Doha: The Qatar Gymnastic Federation (QGF) held its annual General Assembly meeting last week, where the 2017 financial report was presented and approved by the Board of Directors, headed by its Chairman and QGF President Ali Ahmed Al Hitimi.
The board also discussed on the budget for the next year and the relevant financial expenses as well as the minutes of the last General Body meeting.
QGF Secretary General Abdulrahman Al Jaber, Assistant Secretary Abeer Al Buainain, Finance Secretary Abdulrahman Al Qahtani, Board Member Mohammed Abdullah Al Maraghi were present at the meeting.
Yitzhak Murtada Al Hashemi, Saleh Salah Al Yazidi and Mana Ahmed Al Ja’al from the Qatari Olympic Committee (QOC) Sports Department also attended to oversee the General Assembly get together.
Among other things that were discussed were the international event organised by QGF including the FIG World Cup in Doha from March 22-25 and joint training camps with Great Britain and Indonesia.
Besides, the members also discussed the participation of senior gymnasts Ahmed Al Dayani and Ahmed Moussa in the artistic competitions including the FIG Artistic World Championships in Montreal, Canada, and fourth Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku, Azerbaijan, where Al Dayani won a bronze in the pommel horse.
The Board Members also applauded the national team's participations and achievements of Qatari juniors Abdullah Al Harith, Raslan Saoud and Tamim Karib at the Asian Youth Championship in May.
Al Jaber thanked QOC for its unstinted support in his vote of thanks,
“We thank the QOC President Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani for the continuous support to develop the sport in the country,” said Al Jaber.
